Supplies

  • The {Stamps} of Life Back2Basics Set #1
  • The {Stamps} of Life Butterfly2Build Set #17
  • The {Stamps} of Life Greetings4Birthday Set
  • Memento Grape Jelly ink
  • Memento Angel Pink ink
  • Crystal Stickles
  • purple glitter glue
  • Cricut Wild Cards cartridge
  • pink cardstock
  • white cardstock
  • dimensional foam tape
  • 1" circle punch

Directions

  1. Cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock. Half fold to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
  2. Cut 2 flowers using white paper with the Cricut machine and Wild Cards cartridge. I believe the inner one was cut at 3.5" and the outer one at 4".
  3. Stamp center of petals of larger flower in pink using the dotted butterfly wing stamp. There will be a white border but stamp is the same basic shape. Glitter outside edge with purple glitter glue. Set aside to dry.
  4. Stamp center of petals of inner flower in purple using the swirled butterfly wing stamp. Glitter white areas with thin coat of Crystal Stickles. Set aside to dry. (Use heat gun to speed up process if in a hurry).
  5. Stamp Happy Birthday on 3 1/4" x 3/4" white cardstock using purple ink. Mount onto 3 1/2"x 1" purple mat.
  6. Stamp circle with flower in center and dots on the outside from Back2Basics set in pink on scrap white cardstock. Punch out with 1" circle punch. Glitter white areas with thin coat of Crystal Stickles. Set aside to dry.
  7. Cut 4" x 5 1/4" piece of pink cardstock. Stamp background using purple ink and the flower from the Back2Basics set that coordinates with the circle image.
  8. Mount pink mat onto white card front.
  9. Once the glitter has dried, mount the pink flower in the bottom center of the card front. Use a squishy dimensional foam on the outside of the flower petals to make them stand up. Glue the center to the card front.
  10. Mount the purple flower in the center of the pink one. Use a squishy dimensional foam near the center of the petals to make them stand up and glue in the actual center of the flower. Offsetting the foam position from the bottom petals allows the flower to squish down more while being mailed without getting damaged or being too thick to use one stamp. It also makes part of the stamping on the bottom flower visible. Use a liquid glue for the center or a very aggressive tape to ensure the foam doesn't pull up the center of the flower after you have made it.
  11. Mount the circle in the center of the purple flower.
  12. Mount words using dimensional foam in top center of remaining space.
